Ernesto Fontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Durval Seco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Betinho Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Seco having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Edson Futebol Clube's Durval Seco threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Heleno de Freitas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 16 minutes into the match, ViraLataCaramelo U18's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Damião came free, but Durval Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by ViraLataCaramelo U18's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tao Xing Yong was slow to take the kick. During this time Edson Futebol Clube's players had a chance to rest. If Ernesto Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ViraLataCaramelo U18's Durval Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Karkantos in the 21st minute of play. Durval Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betinho Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by ViraLataCaramelo U18's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tao Xing Yong was slow to take the kick. During this time Edson Futebol Clube's players had a chance to rest. Flavinho Pernambucano was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Paul Christini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Panos Karkantos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Durval Seco made a huge save. Durval Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betinho Damião's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 40 minutes into the match, ViraLataCaramelo U18's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Karkantos came free, but Durval Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betinho Damião in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Seco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a rather tough play, Edson Futebol Clube's Panos Karkantos got a free kick in the 50th minute. Edson Futebol Clube's Paul Christini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Edson Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. ViraLataCaramelo U18's Durval Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Karkantos in the 58th minute of play. Durval Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panos Karkantos in the 60th minute of play. Durval Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alim Karaman in the 65th minute of play. After some careless play in the ViraLataCaramelo U18 defense, Panos Karkantos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Durval Seco. The ViraLataCaramelo U18 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Durval Seco should have stopped the shot. Edson Futebol Clube's Lucas Hulk was substituted for Betinho Damião. In the 72nd minute Lucas Hulk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
