In the 7th minute, Washington Lira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DENVER™ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fernandinho Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Lira in the 14th minute of play forced CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Washington Lira might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Melquiades Amor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Washington Lira ran back to his position shaking his head. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Lira in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dráusio Garcia was slow to take the kick. During this time DENVER™'s players had a chance to rest. Dráusio Garcia made a great header on DENVER™'s corner, it was just that CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor managed to reach the ball for a save. Nico Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulk Fenomeno in the 26th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Washington Lira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Hulk Fenomeno dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nico Furlan, 1-1. Nico Furlan made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Wágner Breckenfeld sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Lira came free, but Melquiades Amor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dráusio Garcia who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Erik Thorvaldsson hit a great ball. If Luís Eduardo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Washington Lira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Melquiades Amor made a huge save. Melquiades Amor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo Araújo in the 54th minute of the match. Melquiades Amor was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Washington Lira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Washington Lira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Washington Lira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Melquiades Amor came out and tried to block the shot, but Washington Lira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 63rd minute. In the 69th minute Washington Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Amor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nico Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hulk Fenomeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Washington Lira in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Melquiades Amor, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Washington Lira scored to the left of an out of position Melquiades Amor, making the score, 1-4. DENVER™ made a substitution. Délio Campidelis replaced Washington Lira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Délio Campidelis in the 88th minute of play forced CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Melquiades Amor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melquiades Amor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Délio Campidelis's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as DENVER™'s Délio Campidelis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Melquiades Amor. That made the score 1-5 after 96 minutes of play. The DENVER™ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DENVER™ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
