Eleuterio Malvin came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tommy Kahn could save by the left post. After 12 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Feliciano Petri. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Laurentzi saved Racing Club from getting behind. After 16 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. When Wilfredo Emenon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club's protests and gave Wilfredo Emenon a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Emenon. After some careless play in the Racing Club defense, Frank Sachs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Laurentzi. The Racing Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Laurentzi should have stopped the shot. Eleuterio Malvin kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Feliciano Petri got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Laurentzi was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 36th minute of the match, Marcial Marin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tommy Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Teobaldo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Teobaldo Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ildefonso Erlantz got free with Tommy Kahn in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcial Marin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Marin came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Laurentzi came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobaldo Santos in the 59th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Racing Club fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Racing Club's Teobaldo Santos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th minute, Ildefonso Erlantz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Marcial Marin made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 69th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Petri to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Godfredo Barea hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the game, Marcial Marin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Marin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ildefonso Erlantz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Frank Sachs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Diego Laurentzi made a huge save. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Germany's Albin Holweck in the 87th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Diego Laurentzi was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Racing Club through an amazing save. In the 96th minute, Albin Holweck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
