The supporters of Cobresal booed when AC Metropol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Candido Abeliuk might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mané Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Candido Abeliuk ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Alifonso Apablaza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes AC Metropol got a freekick which was hit by Big Machado. Cobresal's Alifonso Apablaza got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in AC Metropol's zone, José Julio Dudagoitia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Viana came out of the goal and José Julio Dudagoitia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Iriarte in the 32nd minute of play forced AC Metropol's goalkeeper Mané Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AC Metropol's Mané Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Julio Dudagoitia in the 34th minute of play. Adalberto Abreu hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Alifonso Apablaza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Cobresal fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Cobresal's Modesto Iriarte looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 43rd minute José Julio Dudagoitia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Constantin Ionaș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Luiz Eduardo Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, José Julio Dudagoitia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mané Viana was a little too slow when Alifonso Apablaza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 95th minute, Pere Jordi Jofre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cobresal's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
