In the 3rd match minute, Mitschullen SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Sobania to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute Olof Wesseling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakub Nieruchliwy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 minutes, Haluk Özdil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mitschullen SSA and the Young Boys Enschede players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mitschullen SSA getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Haluk Özdil hit a great ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Arkadiusz Traczewski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mitschullen SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arkadiusz Traczewski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacco Heesen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliusz Basinski in the 17th minute of the match. When Tjeerd Hulscher fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Young Boys Enschede's protests and gave Tjeerd Hulscher a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Mitschullen SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Sobania to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Mitschullen SSA getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Zygmunt Tyszka hit a great ball. Jacco Heesen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haluk Özdil in the 33rd minute of play. Arkadiusz Traczewski might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacco Heesen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arkadiusz Traczewski ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacco Heesen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiusz Traczewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Young Boys Enschede's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiusz Traczewski came free, but Jacco Heesen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arkadiusz Traczewski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacco Heesen having to make a save. 38 minutes into the match, Young Boys Enschede's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiusz Traczewski came free, but Jacco Heesen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacco Heesen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Traczewski in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruben Spiering made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Young Boys Enschede was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Spiering to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, Arkadiusz Traczewski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jacco Heesen, 0-1. Arkadiusz Traczewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Young Boys Enschede's Jacco Heesen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arkadiusz Traczewski in the 63rd minute of play. Arkadiusz Traczewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aureliusz Basinski kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Haluk Özdil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jacco Heesen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Traczewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 88th match minute, Mitschullen SSA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haluk Özdil to maneuver through the defense. If Harmen Molhoek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Arkadiusz Traczewski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacco Heesen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mitschullen SSA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
