Rogelio Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Spike Foley in the 17th minute of the match. In the 19thth minute of the game Sebastian Percival who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ferrocarrilera AFC's Rogelio Dei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético de Newell's Arbi Newell got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st match minute, Ferrocarrilera AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Cresenciano to maneuver through the defense. Spike Foley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Ferrocarrilera AFC's Dušan Ančic threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Isidro Cresenciano, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ferrocarrilera AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mieszko Tomporowski in the 27th minute. Rogelio Dei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Percival's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute Devon Howson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Dei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Ferrocarrilera AFC's Mieszko Tomporowski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The corner led Club Atlético de Newell's Pastor Eufemio to fire away a dangerous shot which Rogelio Dei despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rogelio Dei was a little too slow when Sebastian Percival got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-3.
