An unexpectedly hard shot by Genko Balevski in the 12th minute of play forced SeleSantos FC's goalkeeper Dinei Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Genko Balevski fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's protests and gave Genko Balevski a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Genko Balevski. Melquiades Amor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Törnqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Dinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genko Balevski in the 18th minute of play. A hard shot by Niilo Mikkola from long distance, 29 minutes into the match, got Melquiades Amor's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Genko Balevski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Pinheiro having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Leif Törnqvist fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Melquiades Amor, passed just outside the right post. SeleSantos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niilo Mikkola in the 39th minute. Melquiades Amor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Törnqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leif Törnqvist's late challenge caught a CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leif Törnqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute Ulysses Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Vânderson de Moraes hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Dinei Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Ulysses Paiva. But to his dismay, Ulysses Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Leif Törnqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Amor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Genko Balevski managed to get in a good position for a shot. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's supporters rose to their feet, but Genko Balevski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinei Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Genko Balevski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinei Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The SeleSantos FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when SeleSantos FC's Niilo Mikkola looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lúcio Joinvilense hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Melquiades Amor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 77th minute of play. SeleSantos FC were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niilo Mikkola took the corner. After taking down the ball on SeleSantos FC's corner Niilo Mikkola fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Melquiades Amor quite easily take care of the ball. The audience was convinced that Jacobo Casado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melquiades Amor was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Niilo Mikkola put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Melquiades Amor. After some careless play in the CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA defense, Jacobo Casado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melquiades Amor. The CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melquiades Amor should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Leif Törnqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. SeleSantos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Törnqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Amor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SeleSantos FC fully deserved thier win.
