But to his dismay, Gustavo Sabóia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 19th match minute, Irreal Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Neves to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, William Couto made a precise shot to the right of Zeca Santos. Wellington Phoenix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Mazinho Baptista's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Edmundo Mineiro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Irreal Madrid getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Luiz Gustavo Leão hit a great ball. Zeca Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Irreal Madrid's William Couto in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Gustavo Leão to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Wellington Phoenix's zone, William Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeca Santos came out of the goal and William Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Linhares in the 54th minute of the match. Wellington Phoenix's Jeremias Mota was substituted for Virgílio Alagoano. Nilmar Linhares scored 2-2 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmundo Mineiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gustavo Sabóia's late challenge caught a Irreal Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Sabóia helped the player get up and apologised. Irreal Madrid's Geraldo Passos was substituted for José Pedro Travassos. Gustavo Sabóia hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Leão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zeca Santos. Luiz Gustavo Leão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. 84 minutes into the match, Gustavo Sabóia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmundo Mineiro. Irreal Madrid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Sabóia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 89th match minute, Irreal Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Recife to maneuver through the defense. Edmundo Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Sabóia in the 93rd minute of the match. Gustavo Sabóia scored 4-3 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmundo Mineiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee ended the match the Wellington Phoenix players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
