Gustavo Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wellington Phoenix's Zeca Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Vianna in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão Marques in the 18th minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Zeca Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conrado Quadros hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes Rondinone F.C - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Falcão Marques. 25 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Vianna came free, but Zeca Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Linhares in the 27th minute of play forced Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's goalkeeper Charles Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Linhares in the 39th minute of the match. Zeca Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gil dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Falcão Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Falcão Marques got a free kick in the 58th minute. Wellington Phoenix's Wesley Phoenix was substituted for Mazinho Baptista. Wellington Phoenix made a substitution. Juarês Teixeira replaced Amadeu Maranhense. Nilmar Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Rafinha Sergipano's late challenge caught a Wellington Phoenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafinha Sergipano helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Rondinone F.C - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Sergipano. In the 93rd minute, a hard, long distance shot from Conrado Quadros hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Charles Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Sabóia in the 96th minute of play. Wellington Phoenix's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
