Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Andy Somellera took the kick off in the first half of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Guillen Mijangos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Wellington Phoenix's Zeca Santos. Zeca Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd match minute, Wellington Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Geleberto Acaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wellington Phoenix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bonifacio Morentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Universitario's players had a chance to rest. Universitario's Bonifacio Morentin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zeca Santos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute, Bonifacio Morentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute Gustavo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matro Perramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bonifacio Morentin kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Gustavo Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Universitario were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gustavo Sabóia to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Wellington Phoenix's Alex Paulista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matro Perramon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Universitario's Guillen Mijangos got a free kick in the 54th minute. Wellington Phoenix made a substitution. Belmiro Teixeira replaced Virgílio Alagoano. In the 62nd play minute Vidal Cantabrana came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Zeca Santos. 1-2. Wellington Phoenix's Juarês Teixeira was substituted for Amadeu Maranhense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Quadros in the 68th minute of play forced Universitario's goalkeeper Matro Perramon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Quadros came free, but Matro Perramon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute Alex Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matro Perramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matro Perramon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Linhares in the 92nd minute of the match. A collision led to Universitario getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Erasto Tella hit a great ball. Although Wellington Phoenix had been in control for most of the match, Universitario still came away with the win.
