Cecilio Refugio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cecilio Refugio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 4th minute. Irreal Madrid's Nuno Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cecilio Refugio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 9th minute of play. If William Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráusio Domingues placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cecilio Refugio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luiz Gustavo Leão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Cecilio Refugio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Dráusio Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cecilio Refugio was a little too slow when Luiz Gustavo Leão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-0. Luiz Gustavo Leão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Cecilio Refugio made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natalio Laurin to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cachiyuyo EAS's zone, Nuno Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cecilio Refugio came out of the goal and Nuno Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Irreal Madrid's Dráusio Domingues got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nuno Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irreal Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cecilio Refugio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. William Couto scored 2-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cecilio Refugio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Gustavo Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Gustavo Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cecilio Refugio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Gustavo Leão ran back to his position shaking his head. Cecilio Refugio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 68th minute of play. Natalio Laurin's late challenge caught a Irreal Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natalio Laurin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Irreal Madrid getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. William Couto hit a great ball. Cecilio Refugio came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Irreal Madrid's Luís Fabiano Dracena. But to his dismay, Luís Fabiano Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Luiz Gustavo Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cecilio Refugio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Luiz Gustavo Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Refugio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cecilio Refugio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Cachiyuyo EAS got a freekick which was hit by Melchor Calixto. William Couto struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Cecilio Refugio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irreal Madrid. William Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cecilio Refugio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Irreal Madrid had played much better football throughout.
