Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st match minute, VB-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Rezende to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerardo Lordi got free with Armindo Salgado in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pontus Nordström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shao Kun Yuan in the 33rd minute of play. Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervásio Severiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Braga in the 40th minute of play forced Santa Margarita's goalkeeper Pontus Nordström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Braga in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pontus Nordström saved Santa Margarita from getting behind. After 41 minutes Santa Margarita's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luís Braga who took care of the corner kick. In the 43rdth minute of the game Joaquim de Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witomir Pisarczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerardo Lordi to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Santa Margarita defense, Gervásio Severiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pontus Nordström. The Santa Margarita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pontus Nordström should have stopped the shot. Santa Margarita's Wendell Davids was substituted for Witomir Pisarczyk. Santa Margarita made a substitution. Klaus Mohammadi replaced Enzo Peruxu. In the 61st minute of the match Santa Margarita got a corner. VB-Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eduardo De Francesco ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armindo Salgado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Armindo Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Icardi in the 89th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Santa Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Gervásio Severiano came free, but Pontus Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The VB-Team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VB-Team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
