The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Club El Progreso from getting a goal against them. Benjamin Tino made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Ivan Nisio sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the game, Ivan Nisio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benjamin Tino. Ivan Nisio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Matías Kranevitter hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Luis Mejía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Cordaro in the 11th minute of play. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Luis Mejía played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Nisio got free with Benjamin Tino in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 22nd minute of play forced ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s goalkeeper Luis Mejía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Mejía took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Cordaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melchor Garoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Garoa in the 26th minute of play. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ovidio Jokin in the 27th minute. A nice corner shot did that Mihály Berki got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benjamin Tino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Benjamin Tino made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Ivan Nisio sent off a good shot on target. After 32 minutes of play, Club El Progreso's Indiana Jones made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Mejía was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Indiana Jones came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Club El Progreso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Indiana Jones couldn't finish the play. After 37 minutes of play, Club El Progreso's Indiana Jones made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Mejía was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cleto Cordaro scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Mejía, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The wind increased when Ivan Nisio made the kick off in the second half. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Ivan Nisio got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ioan Cândea kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tomáš Kožený's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Tino was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. After 94 played minutes Club El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Bot. 95 minutes into the game, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Mehmet Halis Özkoc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamin Tino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. The Club El Progreso supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club El Progreso would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
