When Luís Braga came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the VB-Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Braga couldn't finish the play. The supporters of VB-Team booed when LA VIOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svante Bäckman didn't get a good kick on the ball. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Braga in the 16th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, LA VIOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Gervásio Severiano came free, but Felix Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Svante Bäckman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armindo Salgado. That made the score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. The VB-Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquim de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquim de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Felix Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Caeiro in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Martinsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute of the match VB-Team got a corner. LA VIOLA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Braga ran over to the corner to take the kick. The LA VIOLA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. VB-Team were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
