Bin Shevchenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabinho Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Bin Shevchenko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabinho Arruda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Bin Shevchenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabinho Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Edvaldo de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Bin Shevchenko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabinho Arruda. Jumeuc Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bin Shevchenko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 30th minute of the match, Bin Shevchenko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fabinho Arruda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Edvaldo de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Fabinho Arruda made a huge save. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Saldanha in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Jumeuc Futebol Clube booed when Blumenau Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas-Ignacio Lugano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Fabinho Arruda got control of the ball when Bin Shevchenko tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Edvaldo de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Blumenau Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo de Toledo couldn't finish the play. Fabinho Arruda made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Bin Shevchenko sent off a good shot on target. José Augusto Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Hamilton Luis notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Blumenau Esporte Clube's Luiz Fábio Leite. Luiz Fábio Leite was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Joel Saldanha made in the 59th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Adelino Saldanha however managed to control. If Bin Shevchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Bin Shevchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blumenau Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bin Shevchenko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edvaldo de Toledo struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Fabinho Arruda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blumenau Esporte Clube. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jumeuc Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Fabinho Arruda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Blumenau Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco da Cunha. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jumeuc Futebol Clube! Fabinho Arruda went to the wrong direction when Xandinho Sharkin was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 91st match minute, Blumenau Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bin Shevchenko to maneuver through the defense.
