VARGINHA FC's Dito Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Reis in the 16th minute of play. Otávio Netto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, VARGINHA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Reis came free, but Dito Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Josué Paiva in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquim Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the match, Andreas Fuchs notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of VARGINHA FC's Dito Novaes. Dito Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Clube Sporting Navuo booed when VARGINHA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvin Thedin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, VARGINHA FC's Alvin Thedin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Pombal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Clube Sporting Navuo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josué Paiva was the one to do the kick off. VARGINHA FC's Dito Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Reis in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes VARGINHA FC got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Gaspar. Joaquim Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Tande in the 59th minute of play. Túlio Garcia's late challenge caught a VARGINHA FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. Túlio Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Alvin Thedin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvin Thedin might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquim Pombal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alvin Thedin ran back to his position shaking his head.
