Characate FC's Benjamin Price played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Haydon in the 11th minute of play. Benjamin Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Haydon in the 12th minute of play. Laurens Waterman kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Benjamin Price made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerrie Kuijsten in the 17th minute. The supporters of Characate FC booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurens Waterman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogelio Ferman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Serge Buring. Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Characate FC's Benjamin Price got control of the ball when Gerrie Kuijsten tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clemente Rudolfo during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clemente Rudolfo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Rogelio Ferman lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Characate FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ágætis Byrjun:s goal. The goalkeeper, Benjamin Price, was totally fooled by Ágætis Byrjun's Marcus Zaagman, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Gerrie Kuijsten sped through Characate FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benjamin Price. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Gerrie Kuijsten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerrie Kuijsten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Price breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Mathijs Looze.

Benjamin Price showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serge Fleur, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Maurice Haydon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benjamin Price. Characate FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurice Haydon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. When the referee ended the match the Ágætis Byrjun players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
