The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alex Remiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco de Andrade in the 6th minute of play. Thanasis Koltsidas was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Sertel Karacabey capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sertel Karacabey really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Rodrigo Hats made in the 18th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SA Samsunspor 2011's İlbey Uzsan. Kevin Carreira made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and João Francisco de Andrade immediately put the ball in play. In the 25th minute, Vaggelis Mitsiou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SA Samsunspor 2011's Alex Remiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donzel Goyeneta in the 28th minute of play. Alex Remiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vaggelis Mitsiou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vaggelis Mitsiou scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alex Remiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vaggelis Mitsiou blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Remiro having to make a save. SA Samsunspor 2011's Alex Remiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaggelis Mitsiou in the 43rd minute of play. Rodrigo Hats kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. If Ariel Telo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Ariel Telo made the kick off in the second half. Thanasis Koltsidas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariel Telo in the 50th minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Kevin Carreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Remiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Vaggelis Mitsious short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Alex Remiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 58 minutes into the match, Vaggelis Mitsiou dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alex Remiro, 1-3. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ariel Telo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. If Vaggelis Mitsiou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute João Francisco de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Remiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Telo in the 68th minute of the match. Bernaldo Silva's late challenge caught a AEK S.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AEK S.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
