El Fortín de Floresta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Road To Glory the free kick. In the 21st match minute, El Fortín de Floresta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliberto Lizbeth to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of El Fortín de Floresta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Road To Glory:s goal. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Road To Glory. Justino Raulo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eustaquio Lekubegi. 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conrado Bernat during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Beltran in the 44th minute of play forced El Fortín de Floresta's goalkeeper Eustaquio Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The El Fortín de Floresta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Road To Glory were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flavio Suarez to strike the kick off in the second half. Octavio Jakue received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Road To Glory's zone, Horacio Jerano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Calixto came out of the goal and Horacio Jerano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute Horacio Jerano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Calixto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horacio Jerano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Calixto having to interfere. Tomás Calixto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Jakue in the 92nd minute of play. El Fortín de Floresta's Bruno Nisio got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Road To Glory supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Road To Glory would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
