The tension between the ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ and the PINGO PINGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 played minutes ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ got a freekick which was hit by Foster Brennan. Filip Josefsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Grigore Dijmărescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filip Josefsson ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Josefsson got free with Grigore Dijmărescu in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Filip Josefsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Grigore Dijmărescu was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Dionisio Raphael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Stolojan in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Ricardo Bernat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PINGO PINGO the free kick. A collision led to ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ricardo Bernat hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Aureliano Mundo in the 22nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by PINGO PINGO's Gregorio Tancoš. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Fernandes in the 24th minute of play forced ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ's goalkeeper Grigore Dijmărescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as PINGO PINGO's Filip Josefsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Grigore Dijmărescu. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Bernat in the 31st minute of play forced PINGO PINGO's goalkeeper Dionisio Raphael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Filip Josefsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grigore Dijmărescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filip Josefsson in the 35th minute. The supporters of ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ booed when PINGO PINGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grigore Dijmărescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filip Josefsson went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexandru Stolojan was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes of play, ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ's Ricardo Bernat made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dionisio Raphael was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of PINGO PINGO booed when ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Stolojan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franz Beckenbauer hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Franz Beckenbauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dionisio Raphael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Bernat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Micarelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ᴍᴏᴛʜᴡɪɴɢ's Grigore Dijmărescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joga Bem in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Foster Brennan in the 95th minute of play forced PINGO PINGO's goalkeeper Dionisio Raphael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
