Scotland's Alexander Higgins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Scotland from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Quadros in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Higgins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fletcher Main had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Quadros in the 25th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 minutes Scotland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luís Quadros who took care of the corner kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Quadros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Edgar da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Wepink Futebol's protests and gave Edgar da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. A wasted opportunity for Clube Wepink Futebol. Donato Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
