But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximilian Brander couldn't finish the play. Váldson Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Hélio Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Jakob Ambjörnsson sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Albom to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes E. C.
