After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's Guib Gonzalo got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 33 played minutes Sociedad Anónima got a freekick which was hit by Guib Gonzalo. Medardo Arena kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Epifanio Vitin in the 35th minute of play forced Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Matxin Uceda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. Matxin Uceda was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
