Sociedad Anónima's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave E. C. Flamengo Paraibano the free kick. 7 minutes into the game, Dorival Prata threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sociedad Anónima's Pacho Cando quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 8th match minute, Sociedad Anónima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Medardo Arena to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute of the match Dorival Prata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matxin Uceda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Hélio Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herensuge Villafranca. In the 16th minute Herensuge Villafranca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herensuge Villafranca in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélio Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Sociedad Anónima's Herensuge Villafranca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hélio Guimarães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 24 played minutes E. C. Flamengo Paraibano got a freekick which was hit by Rony Lucas. Herensuge Villafranca struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Hélio Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sociedad Anónima. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuno Mazorra got free with Hélio Guimarães in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dorival Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorival Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Dorival Prata got a free kick in the 36th minute. Herensuge Villafranca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hélio Guimarães having to make a save. When Medardo Arena was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. A collision led to Sociedad Anónima getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Medardo Arena hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Hélio Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herensuge Villafranca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rony Lucas fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's protests and gave Rony Lucas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to E. C. Flamengo Paraibano getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Rony Lucas hit a great ball. Sociedad Anónima's Nuno Mazorra got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Váldson Queirós during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Váldson Queirós got a free kick in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sociedad Anónima's Ubarna Huertas was substituted for Herensuge Villafranca. Hélio Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Mazorra in the 88th minute of play.
