In the 22nd minute, Fabian Minculescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdülhak Göktepe couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute Eusebiu Borza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niyazi Konuralp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filip Mavrogheni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Niyazi Konuralp made a huge save. Niyazi Konuralp came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Galati Harbour Cats's Filip Mavrogheni. But to his dismay, Filip Mavrogheni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferit İkbal to strike the kick off in the second half. Niyazi Konuralp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Borza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
