A collision led to Griffins getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Iwan Rakiewicz hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filip Mavrogheni couldn't finish the play. Zachariasz Mondrowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Minculescu in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Filip Mavrogheni notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Griffins's Zachariasz Mondrowski. Zachariasz Mondrowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Griffins's Zachariasz Mondrowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Dărăscu in the 22nd minute of play. The Griffins fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zachariasz Mondrowski should have stopped the shot. If Filip Mavrogheni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebiu Borza scored 0-7 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zachariasz Mondrowski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Kryspin Cipinski made the kick off in the second half. Roman Sawicki's late challenge caught a Galati Harbour Cats's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Galati Harbour Cats were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Griffins's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lucian Dărăscu took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Lucian Dărăscu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zachariasz Mondrowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Zachariasz Mondrowski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Filip Mavrogheni showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 60 minute of play. Virgil Doinaș could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Zachariasz Mondrowski made a huge save. Zachariasz Mondrowski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fabian Minculescu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 67 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Filip Mavrogheni could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Zachariasz Mondrowski however easily saved by the left post. With an all-out effort, Galati Harbour Cats's Zachariasz Mondrowski threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eusebiu Borza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Mavrogheni got free with Zachariasz Mondrowski in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Filip Mavrogheni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd match minute, Griffins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kryspin Cipinski to maneuver through the defense. Griffins's Zachariasz Mondrowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save Griffins from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Galati Harbour Cats could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Griffins throughout the match.
