The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Sociedad Anónima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lia Arbulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Daniel Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Schmidt couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's Nuno Mazorra got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lia Arbulo in the 19th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Laurgain Idiaquez fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sociedad Anónima's protests and gave Laurgain Idiaquez a yellow card for diving instead. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Valdir Neves a yellow card for diving instead. Sociedad Anónima's Medardo Arena was substituted for Lia Arbulo. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Natanael Paraense had great luck who in the 89thth minute grab hold of the ball when Nuno Mazorra from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Fernandez Montoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Although Goiás Esporte Clube had been in control for most of the match, Sociedad Anónima still came away with the win.
