A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Joxa mé trasan's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Schmidt came free, but Edward Engström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogério Alagoano might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edward Engström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cao Zhen in the 17th minute of play. Natanael Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred Flinta's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. When Billy Dahlqvist fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joxa mé trasan's protests and gave Billy Dahlqvist a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Joxa mé trasan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Dahlqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Joxa mé trasan's Cao Zhen got a free kick in the 25th minute. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Natanael Paraense should have stopped the shot. Natanael Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cao Zhen, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Fred Flinta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Natanael Paraense made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogério Alagoano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joxa mé trasan's Edward Engström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Schmidt in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Flinta came free, but Natanael Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arne Bronco in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Natanael Paraense saved Goiás Esporte Clube from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arne Bronco in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Natanael Paraense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Alagoano in the 95th minute of play forced Joxa mé trasan's goalkeeper Edward Engström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Goiás Esporte Clube's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
