After 15 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Felix Ibar. Rodolfo Cordeiro's late challenge caught a SAN MARTIN F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Santa Maradona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. Wojciech Kobeko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chucky Norris dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when You Nan got free with Jonathan Errapel in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience was convinced that Ben Breton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Errapel was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Rodolfo Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Chucky Norris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Errapel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Breton, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute Prospero Benvido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Errapel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ben Breton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Santa Maradona's goalie and right to Luis Urdaspal. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Santa Maradona's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Santa Maradona players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SAN MARTIN F.C..
