Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Teofilo Unai took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Vladimir Couto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wellington Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Chile the free kick. A collision led to Wellington Phoenix getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Vladimir Couto hit a great ball. In the 6th minute of the match, Cristopher Damian got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vykan Víkingsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 6 minutes into the game, Teofilo Unai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wellington Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Chile the free kick. Vladimir Couto made in the 8th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 Chile's Álvaro Barco. After some careless play in the U21 Chile defense, Caco Magalhães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hipolito Fritz. The U21 Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hipolito Fritz should have stopped the shot. Hipolito Fritz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Luiz Gustavo do Valle scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hipolito Fritz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Luiz Gustavo do Valle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hipolito Fritz. U21 Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Gustavo do Valle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 30th minute Luiz Gustavo do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipolito Fritz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Trigo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 32 minutes into the match. Wellington Phoenix's Murillo Rodrigues was substituted for Teofilo Unai. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Wellington Phoenix:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Chile:s goal. Luiz Gustavo do Valle scored 1-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hipolito Fritz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Wellington Phoenix's Luiz Gustavo do Valle got a free kick in the 47th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigo Huilipan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd play minute Luiz Gustavo do Valle came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hipolito Fritz. 1-5. In the 59th minute, U21 Chile's Álvaro Barco seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Álvaro Barco the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Chile protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Álvaro Barco had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 58th minute, one of U21 Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Chile. The referee gave Wellington Phoenix a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luiz Gustavo do Valle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz. 1-6. Wellington Phoenix made a substitution. Ronaldo Barral replaced Caco Magalhães. Jaume Roure received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Hipolito Fritz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Chile from getting a goal against them. Cristopher Damian struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Vykan Víkingsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Chile. 87 minutes into the match, Jaume Roure notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz. Hipolito Fritz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 91st play minute Jaume Roure came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hipolito Fritz. 1-8. The U21 Chile supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Wellington Phoenix's performance. The match ended with a win for Wellington Phoenix.
