Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Edu Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cléber Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Bosak, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ilija Skugor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afonso Loyola in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute, Eriberto Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléber Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinko Stankovic in the 41st minute of the match. If Martin Bosak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Toni Mauzer made the kick off in the second half. Cléber Araújo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neven Culina in the 52nd minute. Cléber Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Bosak, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Damir Pongrac dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cléber Araújo, 0-1. Dinko Stankovic blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cléber Araújo having to make a save. A collision led to ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Eriberto Sá hit a great ball. Cléber Araújo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toni Mauzer in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Eriberto Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 71 minutes, Toni Mauzer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Croatia and the ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Toni Mauzer hit a great ball. Gilmar Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Croatia booed when ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilmar Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Toni Mauzer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cléber Araújo, 0-2. In the 91st minute Afonso Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Croatia were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's much stronger midfield.
