The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Modesto Atarratze took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucius Berger. Lucius Berger dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. When Montalcino SE's Nicolas Espiridion in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lugano's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Guimarães in the 26th minute of play forced Montalcino SE's goalkeeper Valdomiro Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Montalcino SE's Perivaldo Paiva in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lugano's goalie prevented a goal. Nicolas Espiridion struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Lucius Berger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montalcino SE. In the 31st minute, Perivaldo Paiva made a precise shot to the right of Lucius Berger. Lugano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 34 minutes into the match, Montalcino SE's goal looked a bit too open when Kai Kamarche came free, but Valdomiro Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucius Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Paiva in the 37th minute of the match. Lucius Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Perivaldo Paiva's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Espiridion was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Perivaldo Paiva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lucius Berger. The goal made the score 0-6. After a rather tough play, Lugano's Paddy Aceto got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Espiridion in the 58th minute of play forced Lugano's goalkeeper Lucius Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Nicolas Espiridion cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Lucius Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lugano's Lucius Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Espiridion in the 62nd minute of play. If Nicolas Espiridion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perivaldo Paiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Lucius Berger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Valdomiro Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai Kamarche, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st match minute, Montalcino SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Adolfo de Souza to maneuver through the defense. Blair Yeats hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Montalcino SE made a substitution. Benedykt Klewinski replaced Perivaldo Paiva. In the 78th minute of the match Leonardo de Godoi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucius Berger skillfully saved the ball. Menelaos Fytanidis hit a great ball. Leonardo de Godoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lucius Berger. Lugano's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Menelaos Fytanidis's late challenge caught a Montalcino SE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Menelaos Fytanidis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lugano getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Menelaos Fytanidis hit a great ball. Lugano's Lucius Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Lugano from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd match minute, Lugano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theodor Castelletti to maneuver through the defense. Montalcino SE's Leonardo de Godoi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 92nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lucius Berger but with some difficulty. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Modesto Atarratze took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Lucius Berger to make any attempt to save it. The Montalcino SE players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
