Lucius Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Guipuzkoa in the 14th minute of the match. Bruno Guimarães's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Jeronimo Lizar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bruno Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jeronimo Lizar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lugano. 37 minutes into the match, Nereo Guipuzkoa notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Lugano's Lucius Berger. Lucius Berger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tranquilate's Jeronimo Lizar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai Kamarche in the 40th minute of play. Tranquilate's Jeronimo Lizar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Tranquilate from getting a goal against them. Paddy Aceto hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After 46 played minutes Niceto Domeka shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Lugano's Lucius Berger to catch but Niceto Domeka was lucky. It became 0-6 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Lugano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tranquilate:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrizio Huber during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
