Roch Cieslak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Luck getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Niculae Mercescu hit a great ball. Roch Cieslak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Madureira in the 24th minute of the match. Belo Academy's Luís Eduardo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Patriciu in the 28th minute of play. Luís Eduardo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sever Patriciu in the 30th minute of play. Luís Eduardo Mazza was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Pavel Logofătu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pavel Logofătu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The supporters of FC Luck booed when Belo Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes FC Luck got a freekick which was hit by Claudiu Creteanu. After 40 played minutes, Belo Academy's José Augusto de Andrade shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roch Cieslak came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Belo Academy reached it. The supporters of FC Luck booed when Belo Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Belo Academy's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sever Patriciu struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Luís Eduardo Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Luck. After a rather tough play, Belo Academy's Yuri Dias got a free kick in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sever Patriciu to make the kick off.
