The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. AC Trollebo's Claes Wallmark proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save AC Trollebo from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Nestor Fontenelle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Progresso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Fontenelle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claes Wallmark breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Dag Bäckström came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the AC Trollebo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dag Bäckström couldn't finish the play. After 35 minutes, Nestor Fontenelle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progresso FC and the AC Trollebo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AC Trollebo booed when Progresso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Fontenelle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stig-Arne Larsson hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Konrad Gardocki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert á Borg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílton Talló hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Progresso FC's Konrad Gardocki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Curcio Borrero in the 41st minute of play. Ian Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Claes Wallmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Nestor Fontenelle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
