The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Carredano during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Diego Carredano. After 7 played minutes Teodelina FC got a freekick which was hit by Leon Bonifaco. Jacinto Ermano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Carredano in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaquiel Boñar in the 14th minute of play forced Teodelina FC's goalkeeper Jacinto Ermano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Ermano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaquiel Boñar's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Zaquiel Boñar put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jacinto Ermano. Astillero del Guayas's Blanco Vidales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Bonifaco in the 21st minute of play. Pablo-Enrique Oneca hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Clemente Oxel didn't quite understand what happened when in the 44 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Modesto Tercero was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Astillero del Guayas's Asensio Aranguiz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Asensio Aranguiz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Astillero del Guayas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Asensio Aranguiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 54 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Asensio Aranguiz. In the 55th minute, Teodelina FC's Carlos Guipuzkoa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Blanco Vidales. Blanco Vidales yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Modesto Tercero got free with Blanco Vidales in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when Teodelina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Guipuzkoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Teodelina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Frans to maneuver through the defense. After 65 minutes, Carlos Guipuzkoa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teodelina FC and the Astillero del Guayas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leon Bonifaco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Teodelina FC's Carlos Markel got a free kick in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's Zaquiel Boñar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacinto Ermano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Zuberoa Sanguino hit a great ball. Carlos Guipuzkoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Diego Carredano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacinto Ermano. Teodelina FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Carredano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 84th minute, Xuoco Canal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 2-2 became the score in the 89th minute when Leon Bonifaco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
