Cyrille Melon scored 3-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karlheinz Ludecke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Combettes came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Noisiel's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mihail Toader fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Yaser Jadue fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Souchu having to interfere. Harold Combettes struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Gustave Souchu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Noisiel. Marseille booed when Noisiel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jolan Piquard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustave Souchu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-6. In the last second Gustave Souchu throw himself and got hold of the ball when Yaser Jadue in the 88thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 4-7 when Yaser Jadue sped through R.C. Marseille's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gustave Souchu. Karlheinz Ludecke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Bouzat, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
