Teresópolis F.C's Michel Shevchenko got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michel Shevchenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Shevchenko was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Teresópolis F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Nando Custódio got a free kick in the 21st minute. A hard shot 22 in the game by Alan Baptista from a close distance when the talented Artur Pernambucano managed to make a qualified save. Breguete FC's players were relieved. Artur Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Baptista in the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Breguete FC's zone, Luiz Eduardo Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Pernambucano came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Teresópolis F.C's Sandrinho Loyola got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Velcho Rolanski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugênio de Carvalho in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michel Shevchenko to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes, Teresópolis F.C's Sandrinho Loyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Artur Pernambucano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Teresópolis F.C reached it. In the 55th minute Michel Shevchenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Valdir Loureiro got a free kick in the 57th minute. Teresópolis F.C's Fred Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's goalkeeper Velcho Rolanski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roderick van Boxel. Nando Custódio charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nando Custódio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Custódio to maneuver through the defense. Roderick van Boxel came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Velcho Rolanski could save by the left post. Antônio Paulista hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 73rd match minute, Breguete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Paulista to maneuver through the defense. Artur Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Shevchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Velcho Rolanski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugênio de Carvalho in the 76th minute of the match. Nando Custódio got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Teresópolis F.C's Abelardo Carvalho was substituted for Alan Baptista. The supporters of Teresópolis F.C booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nando Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sandrinho Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Teresópolis F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Loyola couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Breguete FC's Eugênio de Carvalho got a free kick in the 81st minute. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Velcho Rolanski successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Artur Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Teresópolis F.C's Lucjan Klewinski. But to his dismay, Lucjan Klewinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Artur Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Shevchenko in the 89th minute of the match. If Lucjan Klewinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Velcho Rolanski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roderick van Boxel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Klewinski in the 96th minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Artur Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Teresópolis F.C had won after a very even match.
