Aki Guardo started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Gervasio Tajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute Arlindo de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Jaru-Uaru booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Vides tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kiko Braga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Guto Taffarel made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, Arlindo de Salles made a precise shot to the right of Otávio Dante. Jaru-Uaru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save LUIZ PANATO from getting a goal against them. Guto Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Mendes in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicasio Abreu was the one to do the kick off. Nicasio Abreu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guto Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Gervasio Tajo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervasio Tajo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gervasio Tajo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Jaru-Uaru's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo de Salles came free, but Otávio Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Jaru-Uaru's goalkeeper Otávio Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Mazza. In the 71st minute Arlindo de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Luís Fernando Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaru-Uaru's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Fernando Vides was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chiquinho Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th match minute, LUIZ PANATO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Imet Naschekin to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Tomás de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Imet Naschekin kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Aki Guardo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. LUIZ PANATO were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Jaru-Uaru's much stronger midfield.
