Gino Tonić came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio FBPA's Virgiliu Doroftei. But to his dismay, Virgiliu Doroftei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 26thth minute of the game Velin Golubarev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th match minute, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Vaz to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Virgiliu Doroftei came free, but Gino Tonić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45thth minute of the game Velin Golubarev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio FBPA's Andréas Linquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, Zé Carlos Vaz made a precise shot to the right of Andréas Linquist. Grêmio FBPA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Velin Golubarev made the kick off in the second half. Andréas Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 68th minute of play forced Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Gino Tonić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Moreira. Grêmio FBPA made a substitution. Armando Obeko replaced Gilberto Thuram. Grêmio FBPA's Gergely Takács was substituted for Virgiliu Doroftei. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerônimo Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s zone, Armando Obeko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gino Tonić came out of the goal and Armando Obeko tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 77th minute of the match, Gergely Takács got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gino Tonić was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
