Virgiliu Doroftei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Allan Ennegren made in the 14th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Abelardo de Andrade however managed to control. Cláudio Lopes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Virgiliu Doroftei showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Doni Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Andréas Linquist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo de Andrade came free, but Andréas Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Virgiliu Doroftei notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of moraliensis - DMZ's Cláudio Lopes. Cláudio Lopes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Virgiliu Doroftei took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Lopes. Jâninho Melo made a great header on Grêmio FBPA's corner, it was just that moraliensis - DMZ's Cláudio Lopes managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Virgiliu Doroftei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgiliu Doroftei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind moraliensis - DMZ's goalkeeper Cláudio Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Virgiliu Doroftei to strike the kick off in the second half. Cláudio Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Doni Aguiar hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in moraliensis - DMZ's zone, Virgiliu Doroftei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Lopes came out of the goal and Virgiliu Doroftei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cláudio Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgiliu Doroftei in the 70th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. moraliensis - DMZ's Cláudio Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgiliu Doroftei in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgiliu Doroftei in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cláudio Lopes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgiliu Doroftei went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 9-1 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Grêmio FBPA fully deserved thier win.
