The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Lupere FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Torres to maneuver through the defense. Telmo Valadares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto de Lara's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. PIRATAS TFP's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Pires in the 8th minute. PIRATAS TFP's Gerson de Barros was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Telmo Valadares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Telmo Valadares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Laerte Torres made in the 11th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Guto Moraes immediately put the ball in play. Antônio Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrício Jardel in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Jacinto de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clemente Pires went to the cornerflag to take it. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Di Croce in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto de Lara made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Corrêa. Lupere FC - DMZ's Telmo Valadares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Pires in the 52nd minute of play. Alan das Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antônio Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 60 minutes PIRATAS TFP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Laerte Torres who took care of the corner kick. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan das Neves in the 63rd minute of play. With a little luck, PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges got control of the ball when Fabrício Jardel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacinto de Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Telmo Valadares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lupere FC - DMZ's zone, Jacinto de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Valadares came out of the goal and Jacinto de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of PIRATAS TFP booed when Lupere FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute Jacinto de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, PIRATAS TFP's Jacinto de Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Telmo Valadares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Alan das Neves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antônio Borges came out and tried to block the shot, but Alan das Neves slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lupere FC - DMZ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for PIRATAS TFP.
