Eduardo Baiano came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyon 69ers's Ermanno Di Palma. But to his dismay, Ermanno Di Palma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Di Palma came free, but Eduardo Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Beaune, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Richard Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Peeters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anatol Hönes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Eduardo Baiano made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Ermanno Di Palma reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eduardo Baiano. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 34th minute Edgar Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Peeters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Lyon 69ers's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Souto came free, but Pierre Peeters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodolphe Sol struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Eduardo Baiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyon 69ers. Inter Gala's Eduardo Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Di Palma in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Rodrigues in the 42nd minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Pierre Peeters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduardo Baiano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rodolphe Sol. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Rodrigues in the 47th minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Pierre Peeters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Anatol Hönes made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th match minute, Lyon 69ers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salim Desbois to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Magnus Biörkquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. The coaching staff of Lyon 69ers protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jean-Marc Gesbert had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Pierre Peeters, was totally fooled by Inter Gala's Sérgio Novaes, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
