Jan Gotthard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Ovidiu Adrian when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 14 minutes into the game, Patrick Klimbacher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Spurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poli Timisoara the free kick. In the 18thth minute of the game Jan Gotthard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Los Spurs's Leon Horsky was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ovidiu Adrian in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 24th minute, Jan Gotthard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Primeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Roland Hock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute of the match Poli Timisoara got a corner. Los Spurs's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Horst-Peter Unterberger ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Poli Timisoara's Horst-Peter Unterberger to fire away a dangerous shot which Roland Hock despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 33 minutes, Bartosz Erland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poli Timisoara and the Los Spurs players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Bartosz Erland hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jan Gotthard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Spurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Gotthard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidiu Adrian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute Mauro Primeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Hock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Poli Timisoara booed when Los Spurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Ohmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Hock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Primeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Mauro Primeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Roland Hock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Los Spurs players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Poli Timisoara were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Primeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Gotthard in the 67th minute of play. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Gotthard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute Jan Gotthard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 minutes Poli Timisoara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Patrick Klimbacher who took care of the corner kick. Jan Gotthard made a great header on Los Spurs's corner, it was just that Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Los Spurs booed when Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidiu Bal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Klimbacher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
