Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Shi Yuan Qi took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ovidiu Adrian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Hagedorn in the 3rd minute of play. Rapid Wien's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mirco Kähler in the 4th minute. The corner led Rapid Wien's Mirco Kähler to fire away a dangerous shot which Ovidiu Adrian despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Hagedorn in the 6th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Rapid Wien's Albert Kraft nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidiu Adrian made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After having played for 10 minutes, Daniel Hagedorn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Wien's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Hagedorn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albert Kraft came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ovidiu Adrian could save by the left post. In the 13th minute Rapid Wien were awarded a corner. Mirco Kähler went to the cornerflag to take it. Mirco Kähler made a great header on Rapid Wien's corner, it was just that Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian managed to reach the ball for a save. The Poli Timisoara fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Poli Timisoara's Bartosz Erland looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Poli Timisoara from getting a goal against them. After 19 played minutes Poli Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Çağdaş Yuvakuran. Mirco Kähler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Rapid Wien booed when Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vilhelm Larsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shi Yuan Qi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Ovidiu Adrian when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Poli Timisoara's Mauro Primeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ovidiu Adrian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shi Yuan Qi in the 31st minute. Mirco Kähler struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Ovidiu Adrian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid Wien. In the 35th minute Bartosz Erland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Tempel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shi Yuan Qi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Adrian made a huge save. Poli Timisoara's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Daniel Hagedorn scored to the left of an out of position Ovidiu Adrian, making the score, 2-1. Ovidiu Adrian made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Timo-Fabian Wolf sent off a good shot on target. Tiger De Hond hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauro Primeiro made a kick off. 55 minutes into the game, one of Rapid Wien:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Alf Tempel, was totally fooled by Poli Timisoara's Adib Ovi, who 56 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Alf Tempel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiger De Hond in the 59th minute of play. When Tiger De Hond came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Poli Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiger De Hond couldn't finish the play. After 63 minutes, Mirco Kähler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rapid Wien and the Poli Timisoara players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rapid Wien getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mirco Kähler hit a great ball. Mauro Primeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rapid Wien made a substitution. Lars Reicher replaced Andreas Olejarz. In the 67th minute Shi Yuan Qi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rapid Wien's Alf Tempel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Rapid Wien from getting a goal against them. Ovidiu Adrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shi Yuan Qi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Hagedorn in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute Shi Yuan Qi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Shi Yuan Qi came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Rapid Wien's goalkeeper Alf Tempel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Çağdaş Yuvakuran. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Bartosz Erland got a free kick in the 81st minute. Rapid Wien's Alf Tempel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Rapid Wien from getting a goal against them. Ovidiu Adrian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Kraft in the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Yuan Qi in the 88th minute of play forced Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Ovidiu Adrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Vilhelm Larsson hit a great ball. When Daniel Hagedorn came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Rapid Wien fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Hagedorn couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Poli Timisoara defense, Albert Kraft kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidiu Adrian. The Poli Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidiu Adrian should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rapid Wien fans cheered their team off the field, for while Poli Timisoara had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
