In the 9th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dražen Ladić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, Magic is Back's Martin Palermo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dražen Ladić was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Martin Palermo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magic is Back's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Palermo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dražen Ladić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ruben Sánchez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Marcelo Cordero took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Sánchez. Ruben Sánchez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT booed when Magic is Back was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Barco didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Martín Ferreyra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Sánchez was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Martin Palermo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dražen Ladić came out and tried to block the shot, but Martin Palermo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Cordero in the 47th minute of play forced Magic is Back's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Conor Gallagher hit a great ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goalkeeper Dražen Ladić, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Cristian Medina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's zone, Martin Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dražen Ladić came out of the goal and Martin Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Cristobal Polo was substituted for Cristoforo Cristofari. Magic is Back made a substitution. Rubén-Darío Feldmann replaced Luis Medero. Ruben Sánchez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Cordero went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT made a substitution. Zheng Jing Feng replaced Marcelo Cordero. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Nicollao Narbona was substituted for Bernardino Llorenc. After some careless play in the Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT defense, Osvaldo Potente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dražen Ladić. The Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dražen Ladić should have stopped the shot. If Zheng Jing Feng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ruben Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zheng Jing Feng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Potente came free, but Dražen Ladić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 86th minute of the game was made by Miguel Nicolau with Roberto Mouzo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 88 minutes into the game, Magic is Back's Rubén-Darío Feldmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dražen Ladić made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. In the 91st match minute, Magic is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Nicolau to maneuver through the defense. Zheng Jing Feng scored 4-4 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Sánchez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
