David Aiach took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lino Mazza. Lino Mazza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, David Aiach dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lino Mazza, 2-0. 17 minutes into the game, Rafa Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olímpico FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São José City - FSCMZ the free kick. São José City - FSCMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cássio Rocha in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Olímpico FC's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Aragones came free, but Geovânio Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Olímpico FC defense, Genaro Aragones kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovânio Hoffmann. The Olímpico FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovânio Hoffmann should have stopped the shot. Cássio da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovânio Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Aragones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Genaro Aragones notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Olímpico FC's Geovânio Hoffmann. Geovânio Hoffmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 35th minute, Genaro Aragones left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São José City - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. 39 minutes into the match, São José City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Lino Mazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Leão. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Olímpico FC's goalkeeper Geovânio Hoffmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 42nd minute of the match São José City - FSCMZ got a corner. Olímpico FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cássio Rocha ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

São José City - FSCMZ's Ademar Simão was substituted for Cássio Rocha. During the 56th minute of the match Rafa Vidal completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rafa Vidal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Olímpico FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Rafa Vidal hit a great ball. In the 58th minute, Genaro Aragones got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abel Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Mazza having to interfere. Lino Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geovânio Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldemar Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute of the game Osmar Travassos made a throw-in which Agnaldo Carneiro played forward. São José City - FSCMZ's Lino Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Aiach in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Olímpico FC's Geovânio Hoffmann got control of the ball when Genaro Aragones tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Genaro Aragones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lino Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aiach in the 79th minute of play. Giuseppe Correia made a great header on São José City - FSCMZ's corner, it was just that Olímpico FC's Geovânio Hoffmann managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 82nd minute, Giuseppe Correia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São José City - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Agnaldo Neto got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jonathan Dijk. Geovânio Hoffmann made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Genaro Aragones sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute of the game Agnaldo Neto made a throw-in which Genaro Aragones played forward. Agnaldo Carneiro made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by São José City - FSCMZ's Cássio da Silva. Geovânio Hoffmann made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Genaro Aragones sent off a good shot on target.
