The referee ignored FIEL ALGUSTA's protests and gave Vladimir Negri a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FIEL ALGUSTA getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Vladimir Negri hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, FIEL ALGUSTA's goalkeeper Raúl da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Pombal. In the 10th minute Ruben Corderro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gaizkine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walmir Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Raúl da Silveira made a huge save. After a rather tough play, FIEL ALGUSTA's Juvenal Couto got a free kick in the 24th minute. Raúl da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubens Rocha during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, FIEL ALGUSTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Rocha to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, FIEL ALGUSTA's goalkeeper Raúl da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Pombal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Alberto Soares in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raúl da Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Carlos Alberto Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 46th minute, Walmir Pombal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catugi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Carlos Alberto Soares made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Carlos Alberto Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when FIEL ALGUSTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Corderro didn't get a good kick on the ball. FIEL ALGUSTA's Raúl da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Pombal in the 58th minute of play. When Juvenal Couto was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. After 59 played minutes FIEL ALGUSTA got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Couto. FIEL ALGUSTA's Raúl da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Pombal in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Walmir Pombal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Raúl da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Soares in the 67th minute of the match. Válter Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FIEL ALGUSTA made a substitution. Ludomir Figlewski replaced Ruben Corderro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo de Souza in the 71st minute of play forced FIEL ALGUSTA's goalkeeper Raúl da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo de Souza took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raúl da Silveira. Raúl da Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 74 minutes into the match, FIEL ALGUSTA's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo de Souza came free, but Raúl da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raúl da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Soares in the 82nd minute of play forced FIEL ALGUSTA's goalkeeper Raúl da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Evaristo de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raúl da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. Raúl da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Soares in the 90th minute of play. FIEL ALGUSTA's Raúl da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Pombal in the 92nd minute of play. Carlos Alberto Soares took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raúl da Silveira. Raúl da Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. Catugi FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
