Adalberto de Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Genaro Aragones's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Adalberto de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Neto in the 14th minute of play. Adalberto de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Lino Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferenc Puskás in the 20th minute of the match. Lino Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferenc Puskás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Guarani Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Orhun Taran. Ferenc Puskás in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lino Mazza, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Aragones in the 29th minute of play forced Guarani Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Adalberto de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30thth minute of the game Genaro Aragones who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guarani Futebol Clube's Adalberto de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lino Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferenc Puskás in the 32nd minute of the match. Lino Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferenc Puskás, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Guarani Futebol Clube's 程笑斐 sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lino Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Genaro Aragones stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elias Rocha hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of São José City - FSCMZ booed when Guarani Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Mazza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adalberto de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Neto in the 65th minute of play. São José City - FSCMZ's Lino Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc Puskás in the 67th minute of play. After some careless play in the São José City - FSCMZ defense, Ferenc Puskás kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lino Mazza. The São José City - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lino Mazza should have stopped the shot. Giuseppe Correia took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adalberto de Moraes. Adalberto de Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by São José City - FSCMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Orhun Taran was slow to take the kick. During this time Guarani Futebol Clube's players had a chance to rest. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Mazza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
