After 14 minutes, Laerte Lucas made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. 20 DE SETEMBRO's Benê Goiano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Lucas in the 16th minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Benê Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Forsberg in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Orlando Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurinho Tróia. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Laerte Lucas made the kick off in the second half. In the 93rd minute Maurinho Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Passos hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 20 DE SETEMBRO walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
